Best beaches of Ibiza

Ibiza is a destination known for its vibrant nightlife, but it is also home to some of the most spectacular beaches in the Mediterranean. With a coastline that offers everything from endless sandy beaches to hidden coves surrounded by nature, the white island is a paradise for sun and sea lovers. If you’re planning a getaway to Ibiza, here at Ibiza In Motion we present some of the best beaches you can’t miss.

Playa d’en Bossa

We start with Playa d’en Bossa, the longest beach on the island and also one of the most popular. This beach stretches for almost 3 kilometres, making it the perfect place to both relax and enjoy a wide variety of water activities.

During the day, you can lounge on one of the many sun loungers, swim in the crystal clear waters or, if you prefer something more active, rent a jet ski or go paddle surfing. What distinguishes Playa d’en Bossa is its lively and youthful atmosphere. Along the promenade you will find a large number of beach bars, known as chiringuitos, offering refreshing cocktails and good music to make the most of the day. It will take you 10 minutes to get to Playa de’n Bossa by transfer from Ibiza Airport.

Cala Saladeta

For those who prefer a more intimate atmosphere, Cala Saladeta is the perfect choice. This small beach, located near San Antonio, is famous for its relaxed atmosphere and crystal clear waters. Getting to Cala Saladeta requires a short walk from its bigger sister, Cala Salada, but it is well worth it. Being further out, it tends to be less crowded, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. One of the best things about Cala Saladeta is its natural setting: it is surrounded by pine trees and cliffs, which creates a really special atmosphere. There are no beach bars or services here, so it is advisable to bring water and something to eat if you plan to spend the day. It takes 45 minutes by car from the airport.

Cala Benirrás

Cala Benirrás is much more than just a beach, it is a place full of energy and culture. Located in the north of the island, this cove is famous for its bohemian atmosphere and, above all, for the drumming sessions that take place at sunset on Sundays. The drumming tradition in Benirrás began decades ago, and every week, tourists and locals alike gather to enjoy the music and bid farewell to the day with an incredible sunset.

Benirrás beach is ideal for relaxing, swimming in its clean waters and enjoying its natural surroundings. Unlike other more urbanised beaches, here you will find a calm and authentic atmosphere. You will also find some restaurants and beach bars where you can try local dishes, such as paella or fresh fish. 35 minutes by transfer from the airport to the cove.

Las Salinas

For those looking for an exclusive beach with a natural touch, Las Salinas is the perfect place. Located in the south of Ibiza, within a nature reserve, this beach is known for its fine sand and crystal clear waters, ideal for swimming and water sports. Las Salinas is also famous for being a meeting point for celebrities and people looking to enjoy the sun in a more sophisticated setting.

In addition to its natural beauty, Las Salinas is known for its lively scene of luxury beach bars, such as the famous Jockey Club, where you can enjoy delicious meals and cocktails without losing sight of the sea. The beach is surrounded by dunes and pine forests, offering an interesting contrast between nature and sophistication. A 10 minute drive from the airport.

Cala Comte

If you’re looking for a beach with turquoise waters and golden sands, Cala Comte is a must. This beach, located on the west coast of the island, is famous for its breathtaking views and natural surroundings. From the sand, you can see several islets that create a unique and enchanting landscape. Cala Comte is ideal for those who wish to enjoy a peaceful day surrounded by nature. The sea here is incredibly clear, making it an excellent place for snorkelling and exploring the marine life.

In addition, the beach is well equipped with sun loungers, parasols and a restaurant offering Mediterranean dishes overlooking the sea. If you visit Cala Comte at sunset, you’ll be in one of the best spots on the island to watch the sunset, a spectacle that attracts tourists and locals alike. By transfer it will only take you 30 minutes from the airport to enjoy the marvellous Cala Comte.

Ibiza has beaches to suit all tastes, from lively ones like Playa d’en Bossa to quiet coves like Cala Saladeta. Whether you prefer to relax, explore the marine life or enjoy a vibrant social life, the white island has a beach to suit you. So don’t hesitate, get your swimming costume and sunscreen ready, and discover why Ibiza is one of the most desirable destinations for sun and sea lovers.
